A BILL to amend and reenact section fourteen, article one-a,
chapter forty-seven of the code of West Virginia, one
thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to
regulation and control of the bedding and upholstery
business; associated fees.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section fourteen, article one-a, chapter forty-seven of
the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one,
as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE
1A. BEDDING AND UPHOLSTERY BUSINESS.
§47-1A-14. Annual registration fees.
The annual registration fee for all manufacturers shipping
or selling articles of bedding, as defined in this article, in
the state of West Virginia shall be fifty dollars, payable on the
first day of the fiscal year.
The annual registration fee for an upholsterer or renovator of articles of bedding, as defined in this article, in the state
of West Virginia shall be ten dollars, payable on the first day
of the fiscal year.
All fees and expenses authorized to be collected pursuant to
the provisions of this article shall be deposited in a special
revenue account in the state treasury to be known as the "Bedding
and Upholstery Business Regulation Fund." The commissioner is
authorized to make expenditures from the fund for the purpose of
enforcement of the provisions of this article.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to establish a special
revenue account for fees currently authorized by this article for
the bedding and upholstery business to be used for enforcement of
this article.
